Questions
What is three-strikes pool?
Everyone pays in, the running order is scrambled, and each player takes one shot per turn. Pocket a ball and nothing happens; miss and it is a strike. Three strikes and you are out. Last player standing takes the pot. Full rules.
Is it the same as Killer?
Yes. "Killer" is what British and Irish pubs call it, counting lives down from three instead of strikes up to three. A few house rules differ — a scratch usually costs an extra life, and potting the black often buys one back. The differences, written out.
How many players does it handle?
No cap. Eight works, twenty-eight works. Past about twenty-four on one table the wait between turns gets long, so add a second table or split the field.
Does it work without internet?
Yes, for the thing that matters. Every tap is written to your phone first and the screen redraws immediately, so the night is never waiting on the network. It syncs when signal comes back. The TV display and the player QR card do need a connection, since they are separate devices reading from the server.
Can I undo a mistake?
Unlimited, all the way back to the first shot — and past it, to the roster. Undoing a third strike correctly un-eliminates the player, restores their place in the rotation and rewinds the rack.
How do players see their own strikes?
There is a QR code you can print and stick on the table. A player scans it, picks their name once, and from then on sees their own count without asking you. Free on every plan.
How do I put it on the TV?
Two ways. Mirror the phone — the live screen is built to be read across a room. Or open the TV link on anything with a browser: a laptop plugged into the television, a smart TV, a tablet behind the bar.
Do you handle the entry money?
No. We track who has paid and work out what the pot pays, but the cash never goes near us and we take no cut of it.
What if somebody has to leave mid-night?
Mark them as having left rather than striking them out. They come out of the rotation without being given strikes they did not earn, and they still take a placing.
Can I change the rules?
The common variants are built in: how many strikes, whether the break is free, and whether a player keeps shooting until they miss. Custom rulesets beyond that are a Pro feature.
Is there an app in the App Store?
Not yet. It is a web app you can install to your home screen, which works on both iPhone and Android and means no update ever gets stuck in review. Some competitors do have store apps — that is listed as a genuine advantage on their comparison page.
Does it do brackets?
No. Single and double elimination, round robin and Swiss are all things other tools do properly and we do not do at all. If that is what you need, our comparisons say who to use.
What happens to my data if I stop paying?
Nothing is deleted. You drop to the free plan, which keeps every night and all your stats. You lose season standings, saved rosters, custom rules and the second table until you upgrade again.
Can I get my data out?
Yes — CSV export of every night and every player, on Pro and Venue. It is your data.
Run your next night on it
Free, and it runs a whole night — the strike engine, the TV display, the player QR card, who has paid and what the pot pays out. No ads on any plan.
